Poorer, developing countries face the constant worry that richer, developed countries will appropriate, industrialise, and profit from native resources they lack the ability to develop. The sense of exploitation intensifies when “donor” countries cannot afford to purchase the end-products of these transfers, what more when the end-product is a life-saving one. A vaccine, for example.
