Add WordPress Form Number Field with RegistrationMagic
One can use the WordPress form number field for taking user data in numeric values such as unique identification number, account number, etc on the registration form. Number fields are extremely essential to create a complete registration form aimed at taking only authentic users.

A WordPress form Number Field accepts numerical value inputs only. Users cannot add alphanumeric texts to this field. So, this field in a form declines any other value confirming whether the user is entering a correct data.

To broaden the scope of your WordPress registration form you need to install a form building plugin that offers custom fields to add to your form. RegistrationMagic is one such plugin that offers an array of custom user fields including the WordPress form Number Field.

RegistrationMagic adds a variety of WordPress new user registration solutions to your site. Your site can buy and sell products, offer newsletter subscriptions, assign user roles etc. all via these forms. The custom fields of this plugin, help to create such dynamic forms. Users can also add space between WordPress form fields to design a neat content heavy form.

So, let’s proceed to add the WordPress form number field to online forms with RegistrationMagic.

Navigating to the Number Field

From your WordPress dashboard, go to the “All Forms” section in the RegistrationMagic Plugin menu.

WordPress form number field navigation

Hover over a form cover and you will find the “Fields” link along with Dashboard. By clicking on the Field link go to the “Field Manager” page.

So, now here, you click on the Add Field link at the top corner of the page to see the wide range of fields from RegistrationMagic.

A pop-up will appear consisting of all the predefined Fields of this WordPress profile plugin.

However, any new form that you build with RegistrationMagic comes with three mandatory fields email address, username, and password. Along with them, users can choose to customize their forms with these custom fields.

So now, you will be able to see all the fields sectioned under different subheadings. Click on the Number Field under Special Fields.

A page titled “New Field” will appear. Here you will find different fields namely label, placeholder text, hover text, icon, and advanced settings.

Tips: Even after choosing a certain field, users can change the Field Type from the New Field page as well. A drop-down beside the heading provides a list of all the available fields.

Configuring your WordPress Form Number Field

Here the Field Type stays as “Number” since we need this field to allow the users to the only input value in numbers. Name the Label as something which will help you recognize the number field on the frontend. In our example, the Label is “Unique Identification Number”.

WordPress form number field edit fields

The Placeholder Text field holds the text which appears inside the input box just before the user enters the value.

The Hover Text section is to provide a basic description of the field. In our example, we have filled it with “Accept Numerical Values”.

Navigate to Icon Settings. This will create an Icon just before the field where the user will enter the text.

Next options are Icon Colour and Icon Container. Icon Color provides a particular color to the icon. Icon Container chooses the background color of icon container.

Container Capacity and Container Shape determine the capacity and shape of the icon’s container.

Lastly, scroll down and click on Advanced Settings. Here, you will find a lot of fields incorporated. Let us take them up one by one.

WordPress form number field advance settings

Advanced Options

You can add CSS class attribute from here. However, the HTML must be a predefined attribute.

Then, assign the maximum number of field length as per your need. This will set the limit as to how many digits can be entered in the input box.

Next, the “Required Field” denotes that it is mandatory to fill this field.

Mark the checkbox and move on to the “Accept only Unique values”. This field determines whether you are inserting the same value again and again into the form.

Set the message as “This entry has already been used. Please use a different one”.

The next segment “Add this field to User Account” showcases this value in RegistrationMagic’s “User Manager Area”. It displays the value on the frontend of the user account developed by RegistrationMagic’s shortcode.

With RegistrationMagic, users can display WordPress form using shortcode. These shortcodes are embedded on the cover of every form and are unique to them. One just has to copy these shortcodes and paste them on a new WordPress page to publish a form on the frontend.

The last checkbox is for admins to decide whether they want to allow users to edit their data inputs even after they have submitted the form.

Finally, after configuring all the necessary settings on this page, click on the “Add to Form” button.

Configuring the Number field into your WordPress form

Copy the shortcode from the form card and navigate to Pages on your WordPress dashboard.

WordPress form number field copy shortcode

Click on Add New and paste the shortcode in the body section of the new page created. Click on Publish and your form is now live on the frontend.

So, your Number field set up is complete now. Now, go to the frontend of your site to see your form with the Number Field applied to it. The screenshot shared below shows how your Number field will look on your registration form.

Furthermore, admins can create a custom user area page and make all the user inputs in their registration forms appear on the frontend. Here they can access their user account and edit them whenever they wish.

Tips: The field section in RegistrationMagic offers the option to add products and total price on a WordPress form. Therefore, you can display WordPress form with payment option and thus carry out the online transaction via Stripe etc. through it.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form with RegistrationMagic
When you can add metadata to WordPress form you can show various information about the form to your users. This creates a transparency about your site thus making it more reliable to your users.

Visible metadata on WordPress forms makes your registration page look more efficient. But adding a user meta is not possible in default Google forms or free online form templates. So installing a WordPress user registration plugin would be a good idea.

RegistrationMagic is one such plugin that can help you create custom forms to serve diverse purposes. This plugin offers numerous custom fields to add to WordPress forms. WordPress metadata is one such field among its wide range of preset fields.

This WordPress metadata field displays various properties of the form on the frontend. It keeps count of the number of submissions and the time of the last submission. The user meta field also keeps track of all the activities carried out in relation to the form. Besides, when you add metadata to WordPress form, it helps to analyze the form in a better way.

So, let’s go ahead and learn how to add metadata to WordPress form with the RegistrationMagic plugin.

Navigating to the Form Meta Data widget

Right after installing RegistrationMagic, you will find the plugin menu on your site dashboard.

RegistrationMagic offers predefined shortcodes to do various jobs very easily. From form publishing to displaying user area on the frontend there are specific shortcodes for everything. Apart from that, users can also display WordPress form using HTML code.

On the plugin menu, click on All Forms to land on a page where you will find all the forms that you create through RegistrationMagic.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form navigation

From here, hover on any existing form. You will find two links – Dashboard and Fields at the two bottom corners of a form cover.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form dashboard

Click on the Fields link, to land on the Field Manager page. In this page, you will find an Add Field link at the top corner. From this field, users can start adding new custom fields to WordPress forms.

By clicking on the Add Field link, a pop up will appear with all the preset custom fields of this plugin.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form custom fields

From this pop up, as you can see, select the Form Meta Data field under the Display Fields heading. After doing so, you will land on the Form Data settings page.

Form Data Settings Page Features

The Form Data page contains a lot of interesting modules that you can add to your form.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form form data settings

Firstly, name the label as User Data. The label for most of the display fields do not appear on the form.

Below the Label field, there are other settings with checkboxes. The “Number of form views” option displays the number of times the form has been viewed. Upon checking it, a text field will appear where you can insert a text related to the form view count.

In our example, we wrote the “Number of Form Views” to the ‘Text Before’ field. You can also add new text, which will appear after the form view count.

The next field displays the number of times the form has been submitted. Checking it, a text field will appear where you can insert a text related to the form submission count. In our example, we added “The total number of submissions so far” to the ‘Text Before’ field. You can also add new text, which will appear after the form submission count.

Scroll Down and you will find a checkbox with the option to “Display form submission limits”. Make sure you have set them on Form Dashboard. The next field, “Display Form Date Limits” will record a timeline of form submissions. This data also has to be set accordingly in the Form Dashboard.

The next option is “The last submission received time”. This indicates the time at which the form was last submitted. You can even include new text, which can appear both before and after the last submission time data.

You can also include the form name and a brief description of your form.

Lastly, you can apply a CSS Class that is predefined in the CSS coding file.

Frontend View

Now the only thing left is to publish the form on the frontend to see if the WordPress user meta field is working on our form. Since RegistrationMagic makes it really simple to publish forms with shortcodes, we will copy this form shortcode from the from cover.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form forms dashboard

Then we will go to the All Pages section of the WordPress dashboard and paste the shortcode on a new page. Name it whatever you want and click on Publish.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form publish form

Then go to site frontend to see if you could add WordPress metadata to WordPress form.

Add Metadata to WordPress Form frontend

You can see on the above form, there is WordPress forms meta at the top of it. It shows the number of views, submissions etc. the way we configured at the backend. This number will update on itself.

In a similar manner, users can also add space between WordPress form fields to make content heavy forms appear neat. Spacing is another field in RegistrationMagic like user meta and one can apply it anywhere in WordPress forms.

To get insight about the multiple login options of RegistrationMagic, refer to the WordPress user login plugin guide.

All About WordPress User Meta Tags

The meta description tag is a part of the meta elements of a web page. The meta description stays hidden from your visitors when they view your site but is accessible by the bots. One can display the contents of their meta tag description in the search results of the search engines or in a site description in a directory or data site where they scan your meta tag description.

Some content management systems and eCommerce software may also use this data when displaying a summary page like an articles list or a list of categories.

One Plugin, Multiple Utility

RegistrationMagic not only lets users add metadata to WordPress form. Its large spread of custom fields lets users create extensive forms with even payment options and product addition. So, users have numerous options to transform their sites into efficient online stores or membership communities.
